When Pip & John first reached out to me, their plan was to have a low-key, grounded celebration of love at their restored farmhouse featuring local artists, a circus tent, and lots of international travelers (kilts included!). But then 2020 hit us with its worst. They scaled back from over 100 people to 30 local-only guests, but didn’t scale back on their vision.
I’m so grateful for couples like Pip & Jon who made the most of their wedding day despite COVID constraints but still prioritized the responsibilities we have to each other and to our community to stay healthy. All outdoors? No problem. Properly distanced picnic blankets and dinner tables for each family pod? No problem. Toasts via Zoom, more than 25 squares of family and friends watching from the laptop setup, matching masks made out of the excess dress fabric… No problem! I’m truly honored to document special days like this, full of love and joy AND respect for each other.
