I had a ton of fun photographing the finish line and after-party at the Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon. I know you might not believe me on this one, but I also had a ton of fun figuring out how to tag all of the bib numbers from the finisher’s photos to allow finishers to search for their photos without scrolling through upwards of 600 images. Google Cloud Vision is amazingly capable and accurate, and big ups to David Shamma for making it accessible and digestible through this Lightroom plugin, Textr. It took a little trial and error, adjusting settings and batch size, but it was eerily accurate.
