It’s getting to be that time of year when it seems like the best decision might be to just stay under the blankets on the couch or cozy up in my favorite coffee shop, eyes glued to a screen or a book. Luckily I have some amazing friends who I can’t resist joining for an outdoor adventure. Hence my first trip to Chicago Bog at Lime Hollow. We found a few cranberries (though I found a much bigger bounty when I couldn’t resist taking my family back the next day) and had a wonderful time squishing through the bog.
Our world is turning brown so quickly, and we’ve got to prepare ourselves for some white too. The color of the bog was a beautiful crimson, spotted with some bright bright evergreens and the gold of the sunset. I’m still dreaming about these colors days later, and I’m sure I’ll be visiting these pictures throughout the winter.
Enjoy these last warm breezes, everyone!
